Joe Decker

Area Director—NYC, Fiber

Joe is the Area Director for Fiber Construction in New York City, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in telecommunications construction and engineering.

Joe’s began his telecom career as a lineman and copper splicer with a small rural telephone company in Pennsylvania. Over the years, he has held key roles in engineering, construction management, sales, and marketing working for industry leaders including Verizon. While at Verizon, Joe played a pivotal role in designing and constructing the first fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) buildout in Northern New Jersey. After years with major service providers, Joe shifted to the contracting side of the industry, spending 14 years leading large-scale projects across the New Jersey and New York City markets.

Joe holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Project Management from Penn State University and Villanova University, respectively and a Master Certificate in Organizational Leadership, Sales, and Sales Management from San Francisco University.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, reading, hiking, playing guitar, and creating social media content.
